About Harlow London Stanley

With a lot of help from my mummy, I am writing this blog to help my friends and family stay in touch with me when we move to London in a few weeks. I am going to miss everyone and I am not very good at writing emails and I can't talk yet, so skype can be difficult. So we thought this would be the most fun way for everyone to see what I am up to. At the moment I am almost 6 months old so there are few big milestones ahead of me, teeth, crawling, walking and talking are just a few that I hope to master this year. All of my family will be home in Australia and will miss these amazing moments, so I promise to post them with pictures, videos and little diary entries as soon as they happen.

Ciao Bella

Standard

Another beautiful day in Sardinia. The weather has been lovely. Daddy hates when it’s stinking hot like the last time were in Italy and it was 40+ degrees. Here it has been averaging 28 which is perfect, warm and sunny enough to go swimming and for mummy to top up her tan (although I don’t know why because I bet when we are back in London she will be wearing jeans and jumpers – no one will see this tan).

Our third day here was a nice lazy day spent on the beach and in the pool. Mummy and daddy took turns to go for an early morning swim in the beach before we woke up. Then after some brekky daddy took me to the playground and we then met mummy and Ophelia at the beach. Daddy bought me some arm bands yesterday to help with my swimming. I love them!! As soon as I got in the water off I went, I left them behind and just paddled out to sea (well almost daddy was very close behind me). To be honest as much as I like the beach the salt water does not taste very nice and it hurts my eyes a little. I much prefer the warm resort pool.

I think I spent about two hours in the water between the pool and the beach. I love my new arm bands!

After a while I got a bit tired and mummy said we had been in the sun long enough so it was time for lunch – delicious cheese and ham sandwiches and some fresh fruit.

After a quick midday nap it was time to go back out to the beach. This time Ophelia slept so both mummy and daddy got in the water with me. Daddy took me almost as far as the orange bouys, it was very exciting and a little scary. I don’t like swimming over the seaweed. We built some sand castles and then went back into the resort pool again.

We decided to make out own dinner tonight, I had a mushroom risotto and mummy and daddy tried some giant ravioli’s with a surprise filling. They can’t read Italian and there were no pictures of to gives hints of what it was filled with so it was a surprise dinner luckily it was a tasty cheese. I really enjoyed their pasta aswell. I was exhausted and after playing up for a little bit I finally went to to sleep. Mummy has been surprised that even though I am so tired at night I am refusing to go straight to sleep. I am just so happy to be on holiday I don’t want to miss a minute of it!

Buongiorno Sardegna

Standard

We have arrived safely in Sardinia! It was a super early start on Monday morning, daddy woke Ophelia and I up at 3am as we had to be on the plane in Gatwick at 6:45am. Luckily mummy and daddy were very organised and we just got straight in the at and off we went. I was so excited that I stayed awake the whole car journey and kept asking are we there yet?!

The plane journey was not very long only 2 hours and felt even quicker as I slept the whole way. The best parts were take off and landing which I was awake for.

I am lucky I got a special stamp in my passport when we arrived at Olbia airport. Mummy, daddy and Ophelia didn’t get one, it must have been because I was so well behaved on the plane. There was a car waiting for us to take us straight to our beautiful Italian villa. The villa is so cool, it has a private beach, two pools and a bar for mummy and daddy. I have my own special bed and I am sure mummy was so happy to see a kitchen in the villa – perhaps she could learn a few Italian cooking tricks whilst she is here.

We didn’t mess about when we arrived and went straight down to the beach to see beautiful white sand and clear blue water.

Our first day was perfect but exhausting so after our swim and a pizza we all passed out and had a good nights sleep, ready for another sunny fun day tomorrow.

Day 2 of our holiday was a lot like day one. We did lots of swimming in the pool and the beach. Mummy took me to the play ground and we ate yummy cheese and ham sandwiches for lunch. There are lots of other little kids enjoying their holiday too, I like to say good morning which I am slowly learning in Italian – buongiorno! Or hello – ciao!

We took a long walk in the afternoon to explore the area. We found some lovely boats and playgrounds but no shops for mummy to buy some new pretty things. After our long walk we stopped in a restaurant on the beach and I had more pizza and tried some freshly grilled prawns. I love Sardegna it seems that all the restaurants serve pizza, which I love!

We are going on a Summer Holiday

Standard

I can’t believe it’s been over a month since I last posted on Harlows beat. Mummy and I have been so busy enjoying the last of the summer. I have been out and about catching up with all my friends, going to all the different play grounds in the area.  Ophelia is getting very big now and I love her to bits. I make her giggle all the time, and sometimes I make her cry. I don’t mean to, she is scared of my scary monster noise.

Yesterday I found a wonderful new park in Hyde park. I met Rae, Craig and Fish at the Diana Memorial Playground.  I wish we discovered this sooner as it was like a little wonderland. It had a huge Pirate ship and tepee’s, lots of different slides and swings. I had so much fun and hope mummy takes me there more often. I think Craig had as much fun as I did, maybe he will take me back to the pirate ship one day.

I am very excited as tomorrow morning we are going on holiday. The last time we went on holiday was to the snow in Winter, this time we are going to the beach. We are flying very early in the morning to Sardinia and we are staying in a lovely little villa right on the beach. Mummy has told me that there is a park and pool and lots of other fun things for us to do. I really hope we go on a boat as well.

I don’t think we have wifi there so I am not sure I will be able to give daily updates on what we are up to like I did the last time we were in Italy. I will try to sneak mummy’s phone and use my twitter account to post some pics when I can.

Ciao!!!

It’s just like riding a bike

Video

I am growing up so fast mummy and daddy can’t believe their eyes! We went out for a Sunday stroll and I was desperate to take my bike out for a spin as it’s been collecting dust these days.  Now I can reach the proper pedals and tried to figure out what to do with them. With this special bike daddy can push it and the pedals move but don’t control the wheel or you can lock the pedals in and then I need to push them myself to get the bike rolling. So daddy thought he would lock them in and try to teach me how to ride the bike on my own for the first time. Here is a sneak preview of how I went.
