About Harlow London Stanley

With a lot of help from my mummy, I am writing this blog to help my friends and family stay in touch with me when we move to London in a few weeks. I am going to miss everyone and I am not very good at writing emails and I can't talk yet, so skype can be difficult. So we thought this would be the most fun way for everyone to see what I am up to. At the moment I am almost 6 months old so there are few big milestones ahead of me, teeth, crawling, walking and talking are just a few that I hope to master this year. All of my family will be home in Australia and will miss these amazing moments, so I promise to post them with pictures, videos and little diary entries as soon as they happen.

Easter weekend Road trip

Standard

Today is good Friday and we are having a great Friday! ! At the moment we are very lucky my Aunty Jessie and Uncle Pat are visiting us from Australia.  They have been travelling around Europe on a contiki tour and now they are spending 10 days with us in London.  Aunty and Jessie and Uncle Pat are so much fun I wish they didn’t live so far away.

Last night mummy and daddy went out with them for a curry on Brick Lane in East London. They really enjoyed a proper curry.

Today we are on an adventure. Daddy has some time off work so we are taking full advantage of this. We have hire a big Van and we are driving West. Our first stop will be Winchester to see the Round Table. Then Stone Henge, Bath and our final stop for the day will be in Bristol. We will spend the night in Bristol and then tomorrow…. well who knows where mummy has planned. We could end up anywhere! !

What are you doing this Easter Weekend??

Harlow’s Australian Vacation video

Video

I have been home from Australia for a while now. It sounds like we had a lucky escape because the weather here in London whilst we were away was extreme! Floods and hurricane winds, meanwhile back in Australia we were relaxing by the pool or beach in the beautiful sunshine.

We had such an amazing time. It was literally jam packed full of fun! We did so many different things and caught up with so many friends and family. Mummy had a chance to see her friends and relax most days whilst Omi and Poppy entertained Ophelia and I. The last week we were on the Gold coast visiting all of daddy’s family, we stayed in a huge house with a pool. I went swimming 2-3 times a day! Australia is so warm, I think I would love to live there one day, but for now its great to have a big holiday there.

I was also lucky enough to celebrate my 3rd birthday. The day of my birthday I woke up early and the lounge room was filled with decorations, balloons and lots of presents from my Omi and Poppy, Oma, Nanny Mindy, Mama and my Aunty Jen. After I opened all my presents, Omi made some delicious pancakes for breakfast. Mama made a smiley face out of cream and strawberries, it was delish!

In the afternoon I had a mermaid party at the Pirate park in Currumbin. This place was the coolest park I had ever been to. It had a huge playground which included a Pirate ship and a beach just behind the park. Poppy got straight on Barbie to cook the snags whilst I played with all my friends and family. Mama had a few games planned which got everyone involved and provided a lot of entertainment. I got lots of mermaid presents and we played some really cool games. At the end of the day I had a huge rainbow birthday cake!! The whole day was a massive success, I think everyone had fun, especially me!

Mama and I would like to thank everyone who made our holiday special. Omi and Poppy get the biggest thank you as they flew over there and really spoilt us the whole time. Everyone made such a huge effort to come and see us where ever we were. I loved seeing all my family – I never realised how big my family is. My birthday was probably the coolest day ever, I can’t thank you all enough for coming out to celebrate with me and especially for all the pressies. In fact I got so spoilt we struggled to fit everything in our suitcases.

We took so many photo’s and videos that if we were to post them all you would be here all weekend. So Mama has kindly put together a video of our 3 week holiday in our home country. I hope you have as much fun watching it as we had fun on our trip.

Bucky the Dolphin

Standard

Yesterday I said we were doing something super cool today, well I wasn’t lying. Today we visited the Porpoise Pool and got up close and personal with some Dolphins and Seals. Daddy I advise you not to look you might get a little jealous… mummy got a kiss from another handsome fella although he was much wetter and little rubbery.

The dolphins and seals were amazing. At first I was a little nervous of them, I didn’t want to give them a tickle on their belly or let the seal kiss me. But after a while I couldn’t get enough and was volunteering to help with everything in the show. They put on an amazing show. I was surprised how high they  jump, they catch balls and surf better then me too. They love fish and I was lucky enough to help mummy feel one of the seals. I also volunteered to help through a ring for one of the seals to catch. I loved them all after that.

Here are some pics that we took.

Have you ever got up close and personal with seals or dolphins?

Urunga

Standard

What a funny name for a Town! There really are some funny names for towns in Australia.

We have moved on from Nelson Bay and ventured north. We are now residing in Urunga, a small beachy town south of Coffs Harbour.  Why are we here?? My Oma and Aunty Carol live nearby.

We had so much fun in Nelson Bay, I’m the last few days we did some more fishing, we sailed, we swam, we fed some Kangaroo’s and we went yabbying.
I have so many pictures to show from the animal farm but my Aunty Mel took those ones on her camera so you’ll have to wait a little bit till mummy can get them.

At first I was a little unsure of these hoppy Kangaroo’s. Most of them were bigger than me and they had no awareness of personal space but after a while i warmed to them. Mummy and Ophelia loved them. My favourite animal were the Koala’s. They just chilled in a tree and let us pat them. They are so furry and cute.

On Saturday Heike and David came to visit us. It was a really nice day on the boat and Poppy got the bbq going and Heike and David were not the only visitors we had on Saturday, we had some dolphins stop by and say hello on our way back to the Marina.

Australia day was lots of fun. It was a beautiful sunny day and the water was calling us so we sailed over to a little beach and moared.  My Omi took Ava and I in the Kayak, she did all the hard work to get us to shore and she did a good job, it didn’t take long and we didn’t fall in.

Once we were on shore, we all had a paddle and splash then Poppy whipped out this interesting contraption.  It sucked up the sand then he would push it out again and in the sand he sucked up we had to sift through and look out for Yabbies.  Yabbies are great fish bait so we collected a whole bucket full so we could do lots of fishing in the afternoon.  Mummy took a video of us doing it becuase she was very proud of me holding these little critters. They were funny, they had one big claw and they didn’t stop wriggling!

It was sad to say goodbye to my Aunty Melissa and my cousins but I had so much fun with them all week. They are all so much fun and I really love Omi and Poppy’s boat.

So now we are in Urunga and the fun has definitely not stopped….. but I will keep you in suspense because I heard we are doing something really fun tomorrow. So I will tell you all about the next part of my trip then.

Catch of the day

Standard

My mum told me about this crazy guy that had a fishing show in Australia. He would go fishing and each fish he would catch he wouldn’t take them home and cook up on the barbie, instead he would pucker up and give them a little kiss and send them on their way. What lucky fish, some of those big fish wouldn’t have stood a chance if Poppy caught them. What a crazy fella this Rex Hunt fella is… but not crazy enough that I wasn’t going to give it a try myself with the little ones.  Now all I had to do was catch a fish……. I waited. …. I got up and sat down…  waited again… got up … sat down… got up danced around and blimey!!! I nearly lost my rod over the marina. I had caught a fish!!! Luckily poppy helped me reel him in cos he was a fighter. But he was just a tiny little thing so Omi grabbed the little fella off the rod and without a thought I gave him that rex hunt type of kiss and sent him on his way. Mummy got a photo of me and the fish but she missed the kiss.

Today we had another go but I wasn’t that interested, it was mummy’s turn to get the catch of the day. I love spending time on the boat. I am very careful climbing up and down the ladder and walking around the marina. Today I saw a boat with a pirate flag on it and yelled out ‘shiver me timbers!!’ That made mummy laugh as she had never taught me that.

If the weather is nice tomorrow we are going to feed some Kangaroos at the zoo.

Have you ever kissed a fish?

Return to Oz

Standard

I promise this is not about the sequel to wizard of Oz, although mum says it’s a brilliant movie (never heard of it) this post is about our amazing trip to Oz to visit our family.

We took a very long plane ride via Dubai to visit some friends – the Tominey’s!! We landed in Oz two days ago and spent a wonderful.morning in darling harbour then drove straight up to Nelson Bay where we are staying for the week.

The weather is fantastic!! I am not allowed out of the hotel unless I am covered head to toe in suncream..  don’t be fooled by my passport I am really an English Rose and will burnt immediately  in direct sun light.

Today I had a beautiful day on the beach near the marina with my cousins. They are so cool I am having so much fun with them. We played at the beach for a while then I went for a swim in the pool. I was swimming for almost an hour it was amazing!!

After dinner we saw some dolphins. Poppy took us kids for a walk to get a closer look and we spotted a seal eating a fish and playing in the water. 8th was so cool!! I am exhausted now and definitely have a bit of sleep to catch up on. Ophelia and I may have been angels on the flight but we definitely challenged mummy with our jet lag last night!
